Disney's Corporate Communication
Spring 2018
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to evaluate communication theories and relate their relationship to corporate communication practices; identify and assess the importance of communication functions including: media, community, employee, government, customer and investor relations; critique and analyze varied applications of social media platforms; conclude the value and efficacy of integrated communication processes; interpret and apply the Corporate Communication Strategic Planning Model; investigate and critique how companies manage, maintain and enhance their reputation through ethical corporate communication practices and corporate social responsibility; research and analyze current events to primary corporate communication functions; determine and apply the most strategic communication vehicles in achieving business objectives; design and present a comprehensive communication plan that demonstrates your understanding of corporate communication concepts; evaluate communication theories and relate their relationship to corporate communication practices; and identify and assess the importance of communication functions including: media, community, employee, government, customer and investor relations.

Disney's Human Resource Management
Spring 2018
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to examine current people management laws, practices, ethics and globalization in the areas of the selection process, employment law, labor relations, compensation, performance development, corporate training and maintaining effective environments; explore guidelines and processes around effective recruiting; outline current laws impacting human resource compliance, employment and labor relations; discuss theory and practice of compensation, employee benefits, performance development and retention; explore effective corporate training techniques for diverse populations; and discuss the elements of establishing and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Disney's Advanced Studies in Hospitality Management
Summer 2018
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to construct a comprehensive business plan which will include financial, human resource, marketing, event planning and crisis response data; critique the health of an organization through analysis of cash flow statements, income statements, balance sheets, guest satisfaction and other operational metrics; apply concepts and theories in the hospitality industry to derive valid solutions to in-class case studies and scenario based activities; produce a SWOT analysis; differentiate the primary selection, hiring and retention processes and formulate methods for applying the most effective procedures in class based scenarios; examine the impact of and determine appropriate application of technological advances and new trends in the hospitality industry; and interpret demographic data to identify target markets and align strategy.
